Privacy
GoodBeers is a place to rate beers with your friends. We only collect what we need to run that, we don't sell it, and this page explains the whole of it in plain English.

What we collect
- Your account
- Your email address, and — if you register with an email and password — a confirmation that you are 21 or older. You can add a display name and a profile picture (either a generated avatar or an image you upload).
- How you sign in
- You can sign in with Google, or with your email and password. Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and are never stored on GoodBeers. If you use Google, we receive only the basic profile details you approve, such as your name, email, and picture.
- What you create
- The groups you start or join, the beers you add to a tap list, and the ratings you give each pour. This is the content GoodBeers exists to store and show back to your group.
- Cookies
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in. GoodBeers does not run advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use it
Your information runs the app and nothing else: signing you in, showing your groups and their rankings, and emailing you a code to confirm your account. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We rely on a few trusted services to make GoodBeers work. Each one sees only the sliver of data it needs.
- Amazon Cognito
- Stores and verifies your password so we never have to, and emails a confirmation code to the address you signed up with.
- Only if you choose to sign in with it, and only to confirm who you are.
- Untappd
- When you search for a beer to add, your search term is sent to Untappd to fetch matching results. We never send your account details — just the words you type.
Your choices
You can edit your profile any time from your account, and you can delete your account yourself from your profile page. Deleting removes your personal details — your name, email, picture, and login — while leaving your past ratings in place but anonymous, so your groups' results stay intact. To request a copy of your data, email us.
Drinking age
GoodBeers is for adults. You must be 21 or older to create an account.
